Below are steps you can follow for a Windows installation:
- If you are not already a SageTV user, see the FAQs about EPG data.
- Now that SageTV is Open Source software, the most current Windows installer software can be found in the SageTV forum, here.
- The free SageTV EPG service is no longer available. To continue receiving EPG data requires SageTV version 9.1.6 (or later), which integrates Schedules Direct EPG support into the SageTV core. Check the wiki page on GitHub for details on how to setup and use Schedules Direct.
Alternately, in the US, over-the-air TV stations transmit an abbreviated EPG. This EPG typically spans less than 6 hours. It might be useful in situations where you choose not to subscribe to Schedules Direct or some other similar full-featured EPG service.
- At this point, you should be able to start using SageTV.
